2026 ELITE REMODEL CONTEST TERMS & CONDITIONS
THIS IS NOT A RANDOM DRAWING FOR PRIZES. WINNERS ARE SELECTED BY INDEPENDENT JUDGES BASED ON THE PUBLISHED CRITERIA BELOW. ENTRY REQUIRES PURCHASE OF A $375 DESIGN CONSULTATION AND A SIGNED DESIGN RETAINER. PRIZES ARE CREDITS TOWARD A REMODELING PROJECT AND WINNERS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL PROJECT COSTS BEYOND THE PRIZE VALUE.

2. Contest Period
Entries accepted September 1, 2026 through October 17, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. PT. All entry requirements, including the completed design consultation, signed retainer, and written submission, must be completed within this window. Judging occurs between October 19 and November 4, 2026. Winners announced Thursday, November 5, 2026 at the ELITE Remodels Design Center.
3. Eligibility
Open to legal residents of California, age 18 or older, who own a residential property in Santa Barbara County that is the subject of their entry. Entrants must, during the qualification process, demonstrate: (a) a remodeling project scope consistent with one of the three prize categories, and (b) the intent and ability to fund project costs beyond the prize credit. Eligibility screening occurs before entry is accepted; ELITE plays no role in selecting winners from among accepted entries. Employees, contractors, and immediate family members of ELITE Remodels and of the judges are not eligible. Limit one entry per household.
4. Cost of Entry and How to Enter
Total cost to enter: $375 design consultation fee plus the ELITE Design Studio Project Retainer fee (Variable, dependent on scope of work).
To enter:
Complete a phone qualification screen (no charge).
Complete a $375 in-home Site Visit with an ELITE designer.
Sign an ELITE Design Studio Project Retainer during the contest period.
Submit a video or written statement responding to the prompt: "Why does this remodel matter to your family, and why this year?"
Submit photographs of the home spaces proposed for remodel.
Attend the ELITE Remodels Winner Reveal Party on November 5, 2026 at 5:30 PM. Must be present to win.
5. Prizes
Three prizes are awarded — one per project category. Each prize is a credit toward the winner's remodeling project with ELITE Remodels:
Prize credits have no cash value, are not transferable, and must be applied to a project contracted with ELITE Remodels by December 31st 2026.
Number of prizes: three (3). Every eligible entrant is judged; there is no minimum or maximum number of entrants. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received and the quality of each entry as judged against the criteria in Section 6.
6. Judging
All eligible entries are evaluated by an independent panel of two professional designers who are not employees, contractors, or family members of ELITE Remodels: Ariana Lovato (Honeycomb Home Design) and Christine Craig from Designology Studio.
Judges score each entry on a 1 to 10 scale with anchors listed below:
Homeowner Story — 50%. The video or written submission: clarity, specificity, and the significance of the remodel to the household.
Transformation Potential — 30%. The impact the remodel will have on the space to achieve the proposed vision in terms of desired layout, function and style.
Design Ambition — 20%. A clear direction that can be achieved through professional design expertise and craftsmanship to bring the vision to life.
Judges review the video or written submission, photographs of the home spaces, and the designer's site notes. [Note: family photographs are NOT part of judging materials.] The highest combined weighted score in each category wins. Ties are broken by the higher Homeowner Story score; if still tied, by the higher Transformation Potential score. Judges' decisions are final. ELITE Remodels does not participate in scoring or winner selection.
7. Winner Announcement and Notification
Winners are determined before November 5, 2026 and announced at the ELITE Remodels Winner Reveal Party on Thursday, November 5, 2026, 5:30 p.m., at 2267 Las Positas Rd., Santa Barbara, CA 93105. If a winner is determined to be ineligible or declines the prize, the prize is awarded to the next-highest-scoring entry in that category.
